“玉龙，玉龙！”金凤忽然叫起来，“你看这块石头多漂亮呀！”果真是块光亮夺目的石头！玉龙高兴地说：“金凤，我们发现仙石了，要是能把它磨成一颗圆珠子，我肯定它会变得更加光彩照人。那时，它也许会成为天地间最宝贵的宝物。”

这件事被贪心的王母娘娘知道了。她派一个心腹，在一天夜里偷走了那颗宝珠，并把它锁进深宫。一天，王母娘娘做寿。席间，她把宝物拿出来给众仙开眼界，众仙无不称奇。玉龙、金凤这天没有参加宴会。
但是，正在仙岛上对坐垂泪的他们，忽然发现天空中有一道亮光直射过来。他们觉得那道光与宝珠放出的光芒像极了。于是，他们顺着光芒来到仙宫，发现宝珠竟然在王母娘娘手中。他们气极了，冲上去要抢宝珠。王母娘娘哪肯放手，拼命去护。这一来，宝珠竟骨碌碌掉向了人间。玉龙、金凤急忙去追，可惜晚了，宝珠已触地，霎时间，它变成了晶莹碧透的湖水――西湖。玉龙、金凤舍不得离开它，就变成了西子湖畔两座山峰――玉龙山、凤凰山，日夜守护着嵌在神州大地上的明珠――西湖。大家现在应该知道西湖为什么这么美了吧，俗话说“上有天堂，下有苏杭”，今天大家有幸来到人间天堂，请大家尽情地游玩吧！
