第一篇:英语读后感

Many people often use "mental illness" to scold one another. It is obversely that people always have some social prejudice on the "mental illness".

In many cases, psychopaths always refuse to be given medication. No one can deny that it is disbeneficial to them, but the problem is not so simple. We must realize that the enforced behavior against the respondent's will ,such as injection of mind-altering drugs ,is highly offensive to their dignity and autonomy. To some sufferers, the word "normal" is so boring, they really hate this, and I have to say that they also own the right to stand on their dignity!

As a final ment, I should say that no matter how terrible the people may be, they should be entitled to make decision and there is on doubt that prejudice should be avoided in society.

第三篇:英文小说读后感

Written in the first chapter of the book Pride and Prejudice is an extraordinary sentence of which even a person who has had only a brief look upon the book will not fail to receive a deep impression-It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. In terms of Sherlock Holmes, we’d better alter the sentence into “It is a fact universally accepted by readers throughout the world that an excellent book in possession of our famous detective Sherlock Holmes is undoubtedly a masterpiece of all times.” Perhaps this is one of the most obvious explanations for the unrivaled popularity of “Holmes series” in the field of detective stories. Overwhelmed by the recommendations provided by my friends, I decided to take a look on this Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son originally published by Oxford University Press.

As a whole, this book is about a case concerning the Duke’s missing son. Arthur, the Duke’s son, was found out in a certain morning to have disappeared, accompanied with which was also the disappearance of the German teacher. The school master Dr. Huxtable then turned to the famous detective of the time Sherlock Holmes for help. Realizing how tough and important the case is, Holmes immediately made up his mind to accept the case and followed Dr. Huxtable back to Mackleton by train. Having formed a rough idea about the whole matter, Holmes probed into the case immediately and had a careful investigation of the entire area shortly after the arrival, during the proceof which he discovered the body of the German teacher Heidegger. Finally, primarily due to his prominent ability as a detective, he managed to unravel the mystery and obtained the twelve thousand pounds promised by the Duke.

Having once started reading this fiction, I was completely immersed in the mysterious stor.

第四篇:小王子的英文读后感

Once when i was six years old, i saw a magnificent picture in a book, called true stories from nature, about the primeval forest. it was a picture of a boa constrictor in the act of swallowing an animal. here is a copy of the drawing.

in the book it said:" boa constrictors swallow their prey whole, without chewing it. after that they are not able to move, and they sleep through the six months that they need for digestion."

i pondered deeply, then, over the adventures of the jungle. and after some work with a colored pencil i succeeded in making my first drowing,my drawing number one. it looked like this:

i showed my masterpiece to the grown-ups, and asked them whether the drawing frightened them.

but they answered:"frighten? why should any one be frightened by a hat?"

my drawing was not a picture of a hat. it was a picture of a boa constrictor digesting an elephant. but since the grown-ups were not able to understand it, i made another drawing: i drew the inside of the boa constrictor,so that the grown-ups could see it clearly. they always need to have things explained. my drawing number two looked like this:

the grown-ups response, this time, was to adviseme to lay aside my drawing of boa constrictors, whether from the inside or the outside and devote myself instead to geography, history, arithmetic and grammar. that is why, at the age of six, i gave up what might have been a magnificent career as a painter. i had been disheartened by the failure of my drawing number one and my drawing number two. grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it si tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them.

so then i chose another profession, and learned to pilot airplanes.

i have flown a little over all parts of the world:and it is ture that geography has been very useful to me. at a glance i can distinguish china from arizona. if one gets lost in the night, such knowledge is valuable.

第五篇:英文小说读后感

Nobody seems to care about Mary.

She was born in India, but she lived with her parents in England. Mary never thought of other people, but only of herself. In fact, she was a very selfish, disagreeable, bad-tempered little girl. The city which they lived broke out a terrible plague.

The disease had already killed many people in the city, and in all the houses people were dying. Over night, Mary’ s parents were died. The few servants who had not died had run away in the night.

No one had remembered little Miss Mary. She was all alone in a big empty house. Several days ago, little Mary was taken to her uncle- Mr. Archibald Craven. In the secret garden, where the roses were at their best, and the butterflies were flying from to flower in the summer sunshine, his head held high and a smile on his lips, walk young Colin.

From this story, we know that good atmosphere can help a people change his outlook on life, just like Mary, Colin. Mary was a self-willed and cold child. Due to Martha and Dickon’ s warmth, she changed the attitude to the life. Playing with many animals, flowers are a good way to make her health. Until one day, Mary happened found a key to the secret garden. She opened the door and entered it. It ’ s so bleak. After a while, Mary was determined to make this garden alive. She cut the branches and leaves and cleared them out of the garden. Sooner after, Dickon took part in her work. They became good friends. Due to exercise everyday outside, Mary run out of the thin and weak. People could hear her laughing loudly. Now Mary was an agreeable girl. As for Colin, his great change was Mary and Dickon ’ s contribution. Happiness can infect from one to the other. 第六篇:书虫英文读后感

Frankenstein was a good scientist. He wanted to use elestricity to help people, and he wanted to discover the secrets of life.He worked very hard on these two things. He wanted to create a new life, but he was not allowed to make such medical experiments. He made a body in his laboratory and he did not let anybody enter his labtatory or his flat while he was doing this awful work.He bought or stole all the pieces of human body that he needed, and slowly and carefully, he put them all together. He used electricity from lighting to give life to the body. In the beginning, the monster was kind and helpful. But when he was hated everywhere by his creator and people,he felt very painful. He became hated everything and wanted to destroy everything. He killed Frankenstein's son, William and fiancee ,Elizabeth.Frankenstein filled with anger chase him with his creation demonic monster, finally, Frankenstein and the monster in the fight they died.

It is a very terrible story. Frankenstein created a monster, in this society in which the subject of ridicule, discrimination, so that he eventually became hate everything, trying to ruin everything. This is not just to create a simple person, but to create a Satan, a devil. If people all show kindness for the monster, it would be a good man. There would not be many people losing their lives. In the story, the monster asked Frankenstein to make a second creature. But

at last, frankenstein did not.I think he is right. If he does that, there may be more people to be dead.Maybe in the future, there will be no person on Earth. It is awful.

From the story,I learned that everyone should have sympathy. Do not only care about appearance.
