以我的经历，最好是在网上找，尤其是it方面的工作，更新及时，集中，可以通过在线申请，简历通过email发送，省时，省事。
简历准备以及投放：
准备简历，我觉得一定要根据你所申请的职位要求做相应的修改，当然是在基本事实求是的基础上稍作一些发挥。如果你要申请的职位和你所学以及之前的工作基本一致，一定要尽可能详细地描述你所从事的具体工作内容；如果你要申请的职位和你所学以及之前的工作只有部分一致，但也想试试，最好改一下简历，突出你在这个职位的能力经验。如果你要申请的职位和你所学以及之前的工作不沾边，建议就别浪费感情了，除非雇主说给提供培训。
简历投放后注意事项：
一定要记住所投递简历的雇主/中介的公司名字和职位以及申请的时间，不然接到电话都不知是谁；

首先面试一般是见面聊，skype聊，电话聊，这三种。后两者会在我国时间深夜进行，学生务必各施其法，让自己在半夜的状态兴奋起来，适合你的方法不好说，可能是听摇滚音乐/喝茶/喝咖啡/跑两圈/打网游。注意美国目前在冬季时间，例如我们晚上九点，美国东部是早上八点，同时也要知道面试的学校是在美国的哪个时区。
不管是何种面试，都建议你穿上正装或者商务休闲装，穿上了正装之后，自己的言谈也会不自觉的专业起来。如果是电话面试，请务必站起来讲电话，站立说话会让自己的能量水平(energy level)更高。
学生需要深刻的明白，面试不是被面试官审问，而是一个交流的过程，同时兜售自己。所以时刻要记得两点：交流和兜售。虽然美国学校是什么性格的人都有，但一般来说，在面试过程中传达一个正面的积极的开朗的形象会比较受用。整个面试中，大概有六七成是在于交流的方式，三四成在于说话的内容，在下边会给出详细的`例子：

4.准备回答为什么选这个学校，为什么这个专业
强调，这基本是一个必问的问题，一般来说如果去过学校，可以说一下去学校的见闻，没有去过的话，在维基上把学校的介绍看了，然后上一些国外的论坛，搜一下别人对这些学校笼统的介绍，选自己喜欢的几点。注意在说的时候要流利，投入。下边也举例说明

这两段话的感情-色彩迥异，前者像背书，后者是有感情的口语化交流。
5.准备几个要问面试官的问题，提的问题不能是在网站上可以轻易找到答案的，例如“你们学校综合排名第几”这类的傻瓜问题千万不要出现，注意这里也可以交流起来，再次强调，面试的全程是在和面试官“交流”不是一问一答的被审问，回答问题光说“是”“不是”那是不够的。
结束之后如果有面试官的邮件，发信感谢面试官的时间和他提供的有用信息，强调自己对学校的兴趣。没有邮件的话，靠记住的名字，在学校官网首页的搜索栏中可以找出来这个人的邮件。
