Can Money Buy Happiness?
Can money buy happiness?Different people have different opinions.Some think yes,while others
hold the opposite.
It is true that with enough money one can buy all the things one wants,and live a life of comfort and security.However,it is equally true that lack of money causes great distress.It is a common view that "money is the root of all evil." The pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal.In some places there is nothing that cannot be bought with money,resulting in corrupt societies where everybody is miserable.
So,money does not necessarily mean happiness.It all depends on how it is used.If we make honest and sensible use of money,it can be a stepping-stone to happiness l Although money cannot buy happiness,it can make happiness possible if it is employed sensibly.

1.Some say growing up in rich family promotes childrens personality and character. Some think otherwise. Whats your opinion? Why?
Well, its quite a question argued by people all the time. I think a persons personality has little relation to his family economic level. Its commonly said that a child in rich family will has more chances and better choice for his study. However, if the kid himself isnt aware of this, that is all in vain. Its not unusual that many children from rich family are quite rude and conceited although they are always receive the best education. Then, how about the poor familys children? There is another saying that adversity cultivates heroes. To be honest, I disagree with it too. Poor children should learn harder and catch every chance to strengthen themselves. However, the reality is often not like that. Subjectively speaking, poor children are easy to feel inferior and thus cant study well. Even if they study well, they hardly do well in practicing ability. Objectively speaking, poor children can hardly receive good and plentiful education because of the economic limit. That will cause deficiency in some literal or artistic talent such as music or dance. Therefore, I think childrens personality have little relation to their family situation.
2.In universities, students should take history courses no matter what field they study. Do you agree?
I disagree with it even though I do know history is important. Im a student major in electricity. To be honest, I think there is little sense for students in university taking history courses no matter what field they study. Maybe many people would say, history is something left by our ancestors, so we shouldnt forget it. Yes, I agree with that. History need to be remembered. But in fact, we have been learning history from primary school. I really its enough for people like me whose major has little relation to history. I just take history exam last year. For me, it was really a nightmare. I spent so much time on it and still can remember all. Now that were chosen engineering, I cant understand why we need and have to learn history again. The time spent on history learning should be used for our major courses.

Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen,Before the speech, I would like to share a famous experiment with you.
Two big mice were put into one vessel which was filled with water. They began to struggle when they were aware of danger. But finally their lives just lasted 8 minutes. Five days later, the two experienced big mice were put into the same experiment. A miracle came into being. Can you guess it? Just one thing is that the latter has owned a kind of spiritual strength ---hope. People can lose many things except hope. One animal with hope is more respectable than one person with hopelessness. Hope endows us with courage, confidence and power. Please think about the Red Army men and the last group of people rescued during earthquakes. Why can they adhere to the end? Because they believed in hope. It is hope that nurtures persistence; it is hope that creates miracles one by one. Now, please look at this. Whats this? I know all of you can give me a correct answer. Yes, it is a leaf. Have you ever thought more about it? Do you believe it can save a life? I am afraid most of you do not believe it. However, it really saved one young lady. The story happened in one of O.Henrys works. One patient was told that her disease was becoming more and more serious. So she lost heart to live. And she just lived commonly and hopelessly to await death together with a withered tree outside her window. Because she thought when the last leaf fell, her life would go to the end. But after a very long time, she found the last leaf was still green and fresh in the tree and she was also alive. Afterwards, she was told that the last leaf was just painted by a skilled painter on the window which was a gloss. At that time, she exceedingly regreted her foregone view. So ladies and gentlemen, please give a leaf to yourselves.
