Today on 15th August 20xx India is celebrating its 67th Independence Day,and we Indians are proud to say we have owned our freedom 67 years old back.As we gather here today I take the opportunity to congratulate every student and teacher of this School/college a Happy Independence Day! I also take the opportunity of welcoming you our chief guest for today!
We have assembled here to celebrate our 67th Independence Day.As a citizen of India,I am so proud to talk to you about my mother India.On the night of August 14.1947,Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru rose to make a maiden speech in New Delhi,“When the world sleeps,India will wake to life and freedom.” Yes,India became free from the bondage of British rule.Now,India is the largest democratic country in the world.The country’s strength is to find,“Unity in diversity”.But,there are stray incidents that test her secularism but the people of India are ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of unity.
Today we remember the great leaders who gave their lives for the nation’s freedom and prosperity.Dr.B.R.Ambedkar gave the longest written constitution to us.Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru worked for an industrialized India.Gandhi Ji taught us Ahimsa and Non violence.Subash Chandra Bose inducted courage in us.Swami Vivekanand gave us spiritual power.Yes,with these contributions; India will be the super power in the coming years.Our former President Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam called the children of India to dream to build a strong Nation with aim and perseverance.Indeed!

English is a useful language all over the world. Why are we began to learn English when we were little children? Beacause it is very important for us to learn it.In the world, if you cannot speak English you will lose half a chance to success.
I began to learn English when I was 8 years old.At that moment,I do not like English.I connot remember all the words which I have learnt.I think it is very difficult for me to learn it well.So I cannot read English loudly and I never answer the questions in the English classes.
Even if my English is very bad, my teacher stll encourages me to learn English hard and he gives me some ways to learn English. He tells me to read passages loudly and listen to the English tapes everyday morning.In order to progress my writing he also asks me to write some articles at times. I like listen to the English songs,he suggests me to sing the English songs.As a result of his ways my English becomes well.
Now, I like English very well and I still use the ways he tells me.I know I must learn English even hard.

The story with English and me
Hello everyone，it is glad to meet you，my name is Nong Yanxing，you can also call me Virita, It’s my English name. I am a Howell School’s girl and I am an outgoing girl too, so I like playing jokes with others.
I am fourteen years old and I have learnt English for six years now I’ve loved English since the first time, I’ve heard it from a tape. The voice from the tape was very wonderful and the language was so nice .That time I thought，how wonderful the language is! And if I can speak English as well as the speaker in the tape，that will be amazing! So I asked my mum：“Can I learn English? I really love it!” “Of course you can，but are you sure about it? Can you insist on it?” She was a bit excited. “Of course I can，mum. I love it very much，I want to learn it. ”I said confidently，“Oh，my good kid，you are very good，I am so excited about you are interested in English. ”She gave me a sweet hug. We laughed together. Then，I’ve started my English learning way.
At the beginning，I loved English because it sounds comfortable ,but I can’t believe that how difficult to learn English grammar. Then I felt tired, and I really want to give it up. Buton that main time，my English teacher found me was a bit strange，“What wrong with you，Virita?You look a bit strange.” “Nothing, I just think English grammar is so difficult. It is boring，I don’t want to learn it anymore!” “Why?You can’t give it up，Virita. I can help you just trust me.”“Really?” “Of course!” Then she helped me with my English grammar after class everyday. I also like watching Holly Wood movies, for example, The Green Man in the Avengers is very strong and V in V of vendetta is very cool. Most of actors and actresses speak English in the film, and I really want to understand the whole meaning about a film without any caption one day. Itis difficult for me to make it come true. I should work harder.
English is a very beautiful language .And itis my friend，a real friend. Although I can’t feel it with my hands, but I can feel it with my heart. English brought me a lot and I have a big dream about English. To make it come true ,I should work harder and learn more Western culture. We’ll love each other more and more.

A life burdened with work leads you nowhere, for you would get tired and bored with your daily routine work. On the other hand, proper recreation will relieve the tension and discomfort of our monotonous life because it offers you various ways to let out your pent-up emotions.
What I usually do to relax after school is jogging and seeing movies. Usually I dont spare time for exercise, but I value the physical education class at school. Jogging several rounds in the field certainly relieves the days pressure. On weekends, Ill catch the morning movie for my visual enjoyment. I feel revived and energetic for another weeks work-load.
