各位家长：
大家好！我是xx班的英语老师，我姓盛。首先，我代表xx班全体任课老师和学生欢迎你们的到来。一眨眼，孩子已经是xx年级的学生了，因为有着的共同的目的，我们才会在今天坐到一起，一起来讨论、交流孩子的学习。
首先，我来说说这次的期中考试。从成绩来看，学生这次考试整体有了很大的进步，这与学生本身的努力学习、家长还有我们老师的督促教导是息息相关的。当然，成绩只是个数字，对于孩子今后的更好发展，我们还需要一些策略和方法。在这里呢，我有些方法，供家长参考：
一、对孩子多一些表扬和鼓励
有人说：“好孩子是夸出来的”。我非常赞同这个观点。只要孩子有点滴进步，都要及时表扬，让她有成就感，促使他再接再厉，退步时也尽量不要当面数落她。也不要拿自己孩子和别人孩子做对比。
二、培养孩子自觉性，养成好习惯
教育家孙云晓说过：“习惯决定孩子命运。”可见好习惯对孩子来说多么重要。小学阶段是孩子自觉性、好习惯形成的阶段。家长要让孩子明白什么事对的，什么事错的。什么时间该做作业，什么时间该玩。为使孩子养成专心致志的学习习惯，父母必须认真地看待孩子学习这件事。小学生放学比较早，放了学可以让孩子在外面玩一会儿，然后回家开始学习，最好不要拖到晚上。每天到了这个时间，全家人都要安静下来，不要大声谈话、聊天或者闲扯，看电视时把声音关得小一点，给孩子创造一个安静的环境。在这段时间里也不做令孩子分心的事，如修理电器、农机具，打扑克、下象棋、搓麻将等等，免得激起孩子的好奇心，分散他的注意力。也不要一会儿问孩子学校的事，一会儿批评孩子书包弄得太脏、文具放得不整齐，一会给孩子倒杯水等等，最好是坐下来做些没有声响的工作。如果这时父母也能坐在孩子旁边读书、看报，那就更好了，这样，除了给孩子一个良好的学习环境，还能给孩子树立一个爱学习的榜样。按照上面所说的去做，孩子就会把学习当作生活中的必要程序来完成，每到学习时间，就会主动坐下来做功课，再也用不着提醒、叮嘱和责骂了，他们会很自然地养成定时、专心的好习惯。
三、培养孩子的独立性
班级里经常会出现学生忘带书本、忘带作业、忘带橡皮、铅笔等情况，问其怎么老是忘带学习用品，学生的回答很是令我吃惊：爸妈没给我放进去。我反问道：学习是你的事还是爸妈的事。他无语。所以，平时让学生自己检查书包和各类学习用品，让学生养成独立的个性，而不是样样依赖家长。
最后，我有几点建议想提出一下，目的只有一个：为了孩子今后学习上有更大的进步。
建议一：
每天的回家作业，请家长务必督促，工作再忙，也要抽出几分钟来看一下孩子的回作，让孩子也感受到家长对于自己学习的关心与重视。
建议二：
每天不管有没有笔头作业，督促孩子读英语至少20分钟至半小时，培养学生的语感，这对以后中学的英语学习有着很大的作用。
建议三：
条件允许的话，带孩子去参加些英语课外培训班，拓宽下孩子的视野，提升孩子学习英语的热情。
